Public Awareness Program at JPMC, Karachi
Pakistan Endocrine Society and Department of Medicine / Endocrinology JPMC Karachi, arranged a 1 day Public Awareness Program on 11th July 2009, at JPMC Auditorium. It was attended by a large number of people belonging to different walks of life.
Theme of the program was:1. Thyroid diseases remain undiagnosed for a long time.
2. Need for raising awareness amongst the public and health care professionals.
Major emphasis was on:
Prevention, Signs & Symptoms and Treatment.
Moderator was: Prof. Tasnim Ahsan
Panelists were:
1. Prof. Najmul Islam - Hypothyroidism / Hyperthyroidism
2. Prof. Jamal Raza - Thyroid Diseases in Children
3. Dr. Maseeh-uz-Zaman - Radioisotopes in Diagnosis & Treatment of Thyroid Disease
4. Dr. Inam Pal - Goitre, Thyroid nodule and Surgical Treatment of Thyroid Diseases
