Diploma in Diabetes Education
Baqai Institute of Diabetology & Endocrinology has initiated “Diploma in Diabetes Education” from February 2008. It is a one year university diploma course with three months extensive teaching at the institute, followed by nine months of internship at the clinics of referring Physicians. There will be preliminary assessment at the completion of three months, followed by Annual Exam at the end of one year. The primary aims of the course are:
- To train professionals, capable of effective delivery of diabetes education to the people with diabetes and their families, according to local needs and International standards.
- To help people with diabetes in their fight against diabetes by creation of a better understanding of diabetes and the diabetes-care.
This will serve a long way in provision of diabetes education to the community in general.
