Activities of Pakistan Endocrine Society during the current year
PES organized an 'Advance Course in Endocrinology' held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan on 18th and 19th April. Course was attended by a large numbers of postgraduate students and family Physicians & certificates distributed at the end of the program.

A CME was organized in Pindi in 26th of July. Professor Jamal Zafar from PIMS Islamabad, talked on Insulin therapy in diabetes, Professor Najmul Islam from Karachi elaborated the salient features of thyroid nodule and cancer, and Dr. Abbas Raza from Lahore defined the role of vitamin D as a hormone and its various physiological functions.

An Endocrine quiz competition was organized by Pakistan Endocrine Society in collaboration with Liaquat National Medical College in the convention centre of Liaquat National Hospital. Quiz competition was attended by a large number of students belonging to various medical colleges of Sindh. At the end of the program, shields & certificates were distributed to participants and winners.
6th national Endocrine Symposium is the mega event of this year and going to be held on 1st & 2nd November at hotel Pearl Continental. Symposium is expected to be attended by a large number of postgraduate trainees, family physicians, General Practitioners, consultants, international and national speakers.

Society is also planning to conduct a public awareness program on world diabetes day in November this year.
